Herkimer Diamonds are world-famous quartz crystals found only in specific locations in New York State. These unusually clear, brilliant crystals began forming millions of years ago and are highly sought for their exceptional beauty. 

Digging for these diamonds at Crystal Grove Diamond Mine & Campground is a fun and enjoyable experience for all ages. You don't have to be an expert to prospect - a shovel, hammer and chisel will help, but even small garden tools will work. (Some rental tools are available.)
