Crystal Grove’s 3rd Annual Mining Showdown!

~ Come try your luck with your hardest working friends! For the third year, we will be sectioning up the wall our Tears of Wenedi mine into 10 different sections. Teams are welcome to bring in their tools and see who can find the best specimen overall, along with a few other competitive categories.
~ For this competition, electric jackhammers, hammer drills, and up to 7500 generators ARE permitted!
~ Prizes given for Best Specimen, Most Quartz Weight and Most rock moved.
Cost: $100 per team member; teams up to three miners allowed
Dates: September 10th & 11th, 2022.
Rules & Regulations:
• Friday night Captain’s meeting required, where you will draw for your space.
• Up to 7500 watt generators permitted
• No Hydraulics
• No air tools
• No saws
• No gas powered hammers
• No explosives
• Team fee includes one water/electric campsite
• Any contesting of border lines and specimens found near them are to be figured out between teams; a $50 fee applies if a staff member has to call it.
• Mining Hours for event are Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., awards immediately following
• Each team is to submit their choice for Nicest Specimen for judging; each team member will vote for nicest specimen and are not allowed to vote for their own specimen.
Prizes for “Best Specimen”; “Most Quartz Weight Mined” and “Most Rock Moved”!
There has been an overwhelming response to be a part of this competition; we will be taking the eight first teams that sign up.

You will be asked to submit your team name, team member names and email address of the Team Captain.

Day mining is still welcome, at a discounted flat rate of $8. Hand mining ONLY! Check back for more details.
