Schools & Groups

Mining is such a great activity for many types of groups! Whether it be a day trip or a weekend camping trip, we can accommodate your group! School districts, home school groups, scout troops, youth groups, teams, park programs and more! The team here at Crystal Grove feels it is so important to be provided with the opportunity to experience and make memories of a natural state, and are happy to be part of that process for you and your group!

What classifies a group?

~ Have a Tax ID?: at least 9 people.
~ No tax ID? At least 16 people.

What else do we have to offer your group?

~ A camp store on-site with souvenirs and general snacks, drinks, etc.
~ Multiple picnic tables in the shade, near the mining area – providing a space to have a meal, etc.
~ Our large field offers a space for kids who are less interested in mining, to still enjoy the outdoors.
~ We have two full bath houses on-site.

Group Mining Rates:

$6 per student/chaperone/driver/aide, etc.
$2 hammer rentals (groups are still encouraged to bring their own tools).

Youth groups and students/scouts also receive:

~ A small gift from Crystal Grove.
~ A short, informative speech regarding the Herkimer Diamond and the safety in mining (if requested).

Group Camping Rates:

Primitive tent sites: $30 per night
15 amp electric/water: $37
30 amp electric/water: $45
4-person cabin: $85
6-person cabin: $95

Scouts with three or more sites, get one free “community” site with their stay, to use for their own purpose, whether it be storage, eating or parking, it will be available.
